Insecticidal dusts are applied as a residual surface treatment for undisturbed areas, as well as in cracks and crevices which cannot be reached. Dusts are effective on all surface types, particularly porous surfaces, as it is not absorbed. This way, it can then easily be picked up by insects. This method causes pests to die by desiccating. First, the poison removes their protective coating which then leads to the insect drying out and dying. Dusts have a long residual life if kept dry.
Dusts must be applied to make a light, uniform film on the treated surface. This is often done with a hand operated puff duster of the bellows-type.
Insecticidal dust may become less effective when treated surfaces are washed frequently or may become useless when covered with dust or any other materials.
The team at Pest Busters WP is trained and experienced in the application of insecticidal dusts for the eradication of a wide range of common pests.
